Using eduroam at UCLan on a Raspberry Pi

Unfortunately UCLan doesn’t provide eduroam instructions for GNU/Linux (yet).

Here are the settings for the Raspberry Pi (Raspian), Debian, etc.

Image

the complete input for the CA certificate line is:
/etc/ssl/certs/UTN_USERFirst_Hardware_Root_CA.pem

…or, if you prefer the shell, here are the setting for /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

network={
ssid="eduroam"
proto=RSN
key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
pairwise=CCMP
auth_alg=OPEN
eap=PEAP
identity="username@uclan.ac.uk"
password="************"
ca_cert="/etc/ssl/certs/UTN_USERFirst_Hardware_Root_CA.pem"
phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"

…make sure the quotes are straight quotes.
